A day of celebration for the Bengali nation. After a long and sanguineous struggle of nine months, on 16 December 1971, the Pakistani invaders, led by Lieutenant General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi, surrendered to Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Arora, Commander of the Joint Forces of Bangladesh and India at the Racecourse Ground. Since then, the Bengali nation has been celebrating the day with great pride.
Dhanaidaha Haque Autistic & Buddhi Protibondhi Biddaloy starts the day by hoisting the national flag and singing the national anthem. After that, a discussion meeting and rally is organized to explain the significance of the day. The program is concluded by offering prayers and distributing sweets among the children with special needs for the souls of all those who were martyred in the war of independence.
