National Children's Day & Father of the Nation's Birth Anniversary

Known as 'Father of the Nation's birth anniversary' and it commemorates the birthday of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who is regarded as the father of the nation of Bangladesh and is popularly known as Bangabandhu ("Friend of Bengal"). The day is also celebrated as National Children's Day.

 

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born on 17 March 1920. This day is also marked as National Children's Day in Bangladesh. The day is observed on 17 March to coincide with the birth anniversary of Bangabandhu, in order to recognise his contribution to children's rights and to celebrate the love he had for children.

 

Dhanaidaha Haque Autistic & Buddhi Protibondhi Biddaloy has been celebrating the day with due dignity since 2018. The day's activities began with the hoisting of the national flag and the national anthem in the morning. On this day, discussion program on the portrait of Bangabandhu. The program is concluded with a prayer program for Bangabandhu and his family.
